GTA 5 release date still TBA, but Rockstar ‘making substantial progress’
A release date for Grand Theft Auto 5 is still TBA, Take-Two Games announced this evening.
Speaking during the firm’s Q1 FY13 earnings call, Take-Two said that Rockstar was “making substantial progress” on GTA 5, but wasn’t prepared to announce a release date for the title.
The firm did, however, acknowledge the two screenshots released earlier this month, which it claims shows the game’s “vast, detailed, open-world setting”.
When pushed further on whether the game would still ship this financial year, Take-Two replied that it hadn’t “talked about a release date so can’t talk about the credibility of a release date we haven’t announced”.
According to Take-Two, platforms for Grand Theft Auto 5 are still ‘TBA’.
Which prompts the question: could GTA 5 release on next-generation platforms?
